Nominator's project description
| Prof. David R. Bundle is working on structural and functional aspects during the immune response to carbohydrates. He has been among the first to characterize oligosaccharide / antibody complexes at an atomic level using diverse experimental techniques. Using this knowledge he recently designed and synthesized high affinity carbohydrate ligands to bacterial toxins to assist in detoxification. During the research stay in Germany he investigates ligand protein interactions employing a new NMR technique, Saturation Transfer Difference spectroscopy. |
